HiLung Head of Translational Science Toshio Suzuki Presents Lung Organoid–Spatial Transcriptomics Integrated Drug Discovery Platform at ATS 2024 Mini Symposium

HiLung Inc. is pleased to announce that Toshio Suzuki, Head of Translational Science at HiLung, presented at the American Thoracic Society 2024(ATS 2024)Mini Symposium.
The presentation was titled “Integration of High-resolution 3D Organoid Engineering and Spatial Transcriptomics as a Next-generation Drug Discovery Platform for Pathologic Lung Remodeling.”
In this presentation, Dr. Suzuki introduced HiLung’s next-generation drug discovery platform that integrates human iPSC-derived lung organoid technology with spatial transcriptomics to investigate pathologic lung remodeling, including pulmonary fibrosis.
By combining high-resolution 3D organoid engineering with spatially resolved molecular profiling, the platform is designed to provide deeper insights into cell–cell interactions, disease progression, and drug responses in human-relevant lung disease models.
This approach aims to overcome key limitations of conventional two-dimensional culture systems and animal models by enabling more precise evaluation of human lung tissue-specific disease mechanisms. The platform has potential applications in target discovery, mechanism-of-action studies, efficacy evaluation, and next-generation safety assessment.
