HiLung to Present a Poster on Human iPSC-Derived Alveolar Macrophages for In Vitro Lung Toxicology at ESTIV 2026
HiLung Inc. is pleased to announce that it will present a poster at ESTIV 2026, the 23rd International Congress of the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro, to be held from 29 June to 2 July 2026 at MECC Maastricht in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
ESTIV stands for the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro, a leading scientific society dedicated to advancing in vitro toxicology and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). Under the congress theme, “Ensuring Safety, Advancing Science: Bridging to the Future with NAMs,” ESTIV 2026 will bring together researchers, industry leaders, regulators, and innovators working to advance human-relevant, non-animal approaches for safety assessment.
At ESTIV 2026, HiLung will present its work on the reproducible generation of robust human iPSC-derived alveolar macrophages for in vitro lung toxicology. This presentation highlights HiLung’s ongoing efforts to develop human-relevant respiratory NAMs that can support more predictive safety assessment for pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and advanced therapeutic modalities.

Title: Reproducible generation of robust human iPSC-derived alveolar macrophage, for in vitro lung toxicology
Presenting author: Shogo Nagata
Affiliation: HiLung Inc.
Poster presentation date: Tuesday, 30 June 2026
Through the development of human iPSC-derived lung organoids, alveolar epithelial models, and alveolar macrophage models, HiLung aims to contribute to the advancement of human-relevant respiratory toxicology and the broader implementation of NAMs in drug discovery and safety assessment.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss potential toxicology studies using HiLung’s human iPSC-derived tissue-resident alveolar macrophages. Please feel free to reach out to us during the congress.
